# Parent Portal

User-friendly and accessible online portal for parents to register participants

The parent portal was thoughtfully designed to be simple to use, secure and accessible. It uses SMS OTP to access - meaning a Parent needs a singular SMS phone number to utilize it. 

A parent can simply login or create a new account to register one or more participants, purchase memberships, enroll participants, make payments and much more.

It supports many languages and was designed to include [customizable content](/registration/registration-settings.md), which is translated in realm time! :see\_no\_evil:

## Sharing The Unique Portal URL

In the [Parent Portal settings](/registration/registration-settings.md), there is a URL that you can click to visit, or copy to share. It is unique to your organization.

## Take It For A Spin

To get started, you can simply head over to your unique portal URL and attempt to login with your personal cell phone number.

The Parent Portal landing page is now condensed to clearly distinguish login versus registering:

Testing is great! But remember we are in a live database. So be sure to clean up your testing records when you're done!

Once you're logged in, you'll be taken through the [customizable registration form](/registration/registration-form.md). While you're walking through this, it may be helpful to start designing your registration form - as you'll be able to see your changes in real time as you walk through registration.

Now that you're logged in with your alternate [User Account](/getting-started/logging-in/user-accounts.md) (just for parents) the app determines where you left off last. If you already have a complete constituent profile, you'll be brought to the [dashboard](/registration/online-registration/parent-portal/dashboard.md). In any other case, you'll be brought to the last visited page in the [registration form](/registration/online-registration/parent-portal/registration.md).

## Logging In/Registering

The Parent Portal will automatically default to Login when - but can easily be toggled to Register. Additionally, there is a second Register option underneath&#x20;

If a Parent attempts to Register when their SMS phone number is already attached to a Constituent record, there will be a clear error.

Likewise, if a Parent enters a phone number that is nonexistent, they will be prompted to Register.
